S’more to Discover! Celebrate Winter Delights at Winterfest 2013
The American Club resort hosts festive celebration from Ice Golf on Wood Lake to Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides throughout the quaint Village of Kohler, Wisconsin
KOHLER, Wis. – Snow people of all ages celebrate the thrill of the chill during Winterfest, in Kohler, Wisconsin. The Shops at Woodlake Kohler hosts two wintery days of frosty fun and frolic January 25-27 featuring winter-themed activities, tastings and demonstrations. The shopping center is nestled along Wood Lake and offers a serene winter setting for new and traditional experiences during this outrageous seasonal celebration.
The 2013 Schedule of Events features a sleigh full of new activities. Kohler is well known for world-class golf courses and this winter the professionals of the Kohler Golf Academy dust off their putters to host Ice Golf, a shortened golf course – with tees, fairways and greens. Pending ice conditions, the course will be played on Wood Lake with waffle balls and all the money raised will benefit the Above & Beyond Children Museum of Sheboygan.
“We’re thrilled with the line-up for this year’s winter celebration,” said Tricia Rathermel, special events coordinator for The American Club Resort. “From the horse-drawn wagon rides – a favorite of many – to the new S’mores by the bonfire, the weekend’s activities are geared toward families and kids of all ages. We are especially looking forward to the Ice Golf experience on Wood Lake – who says you can’t golf in the winter!”
New activities for children include a colossal Snow Mountain for climbing and conquering‚ Photos with Winter Friends, friendly Winter Characters will engage children in the activities and Make & Take Crafts. Children are invited to enjoy a special Winterfest Kids Menu at Cucina Italian Restaurant and children of all ages can enjoy sweet treats at Craverie Chocolatier Café.
Traditional Winterfest activities include Ice Skating with rental skates available‚ Snowshoeing demonstrations and rentals‚ Horse-drawn Wagon Rides, Dog Sledding presentations, Giant Snow Sculptures and Curling. Visitors shouldn’t miss the chance to make sweet treats with a S’more Kit at the lakeside bonfire.
