We are committed to bringing you the best, and we offer workshops and special events throughout the year. They include beginners' series, yoga boot camps, celebrity yoga instructor workshops, yoga for athletes, partner yoga, Thai yoga massage and more. Night and weekend series classes will present something for everyone with such offerings as yoga for mom and babies and kids’/youth/teen yoga. All sessions will be led by certified Yoga on the Lake teachers, registered by Yoga Alliance.

YOGA FOR DEPRESSION & ANXIETY with HALLE

This original workshop is a two-hour “thesis” of best practices for sequencing, breathing and moving in order to manage depression and anxiety. It employs the Ayurvedic concepts of Brahmana and Langhana. Practices that promote Brahmana increase vitality and build energy in the body; those that foster Langhana are grounding and calming. The content is designed to serve multiple audiences, from yoga instructor to therapist. 200-hour certified yoga teachers will elevate their awareness of subtle energy, explore alternative methods for sequencing, develop home practice techniques, and teach to the emotional body. It will also serve as a resource for all those managing depression and anxiety and are interested in harnessing their energy for therapeutic effect.

This workshop is designed to evoke elements of teacher training facilitation. Time will be shared between lecture and two separate, gentle asana practices (one designed to stimulate and enliven; one designed to soothe and steady). All participants are encouraged to bring a journal or notebook, a writing utensil, and a yoga mat.
