A Tribute to Alice Dye
We are saddened to learn of the passing of Alice Dye, and express our deepest sympathies to her husband Pete and sons Perry and PB. Alice was an intelligent and respected business colleague and dear friend of Kohler Co. In the world of golf, Alice and Pete are royalty, admired for their golf course design partnership and cherished for their devout love for one other, whose marriage spanned nearly 70 years. Alice was an accomplished golfer and decorated course architect. She was the first woman to serve as president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects and the first woman to serve as Director of the PGA of America. She also served as Pete’s bedrock and was indeed a talented golf designer in her own right, whose inspiration and ideas can be seen and enjoyed at both Blackwolf Run and Whistling Straits. She could be firm and affectionate, witty and insightful, but always presented a vibrant outlook on life that would quickly bring a smile to your face upon every encounter. Alice was truly one of the most enduring ambassador’s for women’s golf.
