River Wildlife, a distinguished recreational and dining club, is a wilderness preserve encompassing more than 500 acres of unspoiled land, 5 miles of the meandering Sheboygan River and more than 18 miles of scenic woodland trails. A country club in the woods, this naturally secluded sanctuary is a relaxed place to get down to business or escape from it.
A rustic log cabin with a massive fieldstone fireplace and six intimate dining rooms featuring pine floors and antique wood furnishings is headquarters for the club and home to the renowned Lodge Restaurant. Culinary creations like Thyme-Roasted Duck with a Door County Cherry Tawny Port Glaze and Rushing Waters Smoked Salmon Watercress Chowder are part of the ever-changing, regionally inspired menu.
Enjoy the outdoors with recreational activities including hiking, horseback riding, canoeing and kayaking, trapshooting and 5-stand clays, upland bird hunting, fishing, self-guided birder's hike, 3-D archery range and cross-country skiing. Also available to members are four hike-in campsites and our secluded one-room lodging, the Tomczyk cabin.
