Destination Kohler Hosts Fifth Annual ‘In Celebration of Chocolate’ Festival

Forbes Five-Star Luxury Resort Showcases Kohler Co.’s Latest Offerings with Sweet-filled Weekend Event

KOHLER, Wis. — February 2, 2017Destination Kohler, the Midwest’s only Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond resort-hotel, will celebrate its fifth annual ‘In Celebration of Chocolate’ event, February 17-19, 2017. Leading the cocoa-themed festival will be Destination Kohler’s own Executive Pastry Chef and World Pastry Champion Josh Johnson; KOHLER Original Recipe Chocolates’ Head Chocolatier Anette Righi DeFendi; Guittard Chocolate Company’s Executive Pastry Chef Donald Wressell; and Chris Mangless of Green Bay’s upscale private dining studio Three Three Five.

“Through the years, ‘In Celebration of Chocolate’ has become one of our signature events at Destination Kohler,” said Jenna Check, Associate Director of Special Events. “The dynamic festival not only caters to loyal KOHLER Original Recipe Chocolates enthusiasts, but also the novice foodie looking to expand their knowledge. The three-day edible experience will feature chocolate-inspired dinners, culinary and educational demonstrations, and traditional and untraditional pairings. The complete schedule and pricing for ‘In Celebration of Chocolate’ can be found online; highlight events include:

  • In Celebration of Chocolate Wine Dinner,’ an elegant, sweet and savory four-course dinner with elevated wine pairings.
  • The Dairy-est of Friends: Cheese & Chocolate,’ an intriguing chocolate and cheese pairing hosted by DeFendi and Carrie Liebhauser, of BelGioioso Cheese, a Wisconsin-based manufacturer of classic Italian cheeses.
  • Your Way to Crème Brûlée,’ an interactive demonstration with Chef Johnson on how to prepare the delectable and complex French dessert.
  • Dynamic Duo: Sweet & Savory,’ a fun, yet educational affair with Chef Johnson and Chef Wressell. The two friends and culinary masters will come together to show guests the secrets to creating a dish that perfectly balances savory flavors and sweet notes.
  • Sugar High,’ an unforgettable evening with delectable sweet and savory food stations from the participating chefs and live entertainment by Jenny Thiel Group, a Midwestern jazz quartet.
