About

Sandhill

For years Mr. Kohler dreamed of building a red-roof hunting shack. Of course, like everything at Kohler that vision quickly transformed into a truly one-of-a-kind property – marrying the ultimate in luxury amenities and accommodations with a close and respectful watch on the environment.

Built of reclaimed timber from six Wisconsin farms, this three-level, 2,000-square-foot “cabin” embodies the spirit of gracious living. Located near four championship golf courses and five-star services, it offers a perfectly appointed retreat to those with an appreciation for both nature and the finer things in life.

Each item of décor was either donated or carefully chosen from antique stores, flea markets and boutiques to create a vision of home while maintaining a cabin charm and feel. Large windows provide 360-degree panoramic views of pinewoods, prairie grass fields, and a wildlife pond and hiking trails, inviting guests outdoors for hunting, snowshoeing, bicycling and a host of other outdoor adventures.

Sandhill’s rustic charm appeals to a wide range of guests – from families seeking a private retreat to golf buddy outings, from romantic honeymoons to women’s getaways. And while it’s far different than Mr. Kohler’s original vision, this perfectly secluded retreat – charmingly capped with a red roof – is, perhaps, even more wonderful than the getaway of your dreams.
