Upland Bird Hunting
Mid September to Early Spring at River Wildlife
One of the Midwest’s premiere shooting clubs offers pheasant and partridge hunting in a variety of different terrain. Our three hunt fields are planted with native prairie grasses and annual cover crops. Since they are situated along the river and woods, they provide a challenging workout for both hunters and their dogs. Expert guides, dogs and equipment are available. Reservations are available daily at 9am & 1pm. Lodging reservations at The American Club or Inn on Woodlake are required for non-members, as well as the purchase of a hunting pass prior to making reservations for a field.
Year Round at River Wildlife
Trap shooting can offer valuable warm-up before a pheasant hunt, provide the novice/beginner with basic shooting skills, and be a fun, competitive activity for larger groups. On-your-command targets hurtle away at 45-degree angles and varying heights. Reservations available daily from 8am to 3pm. Lodging reservations at The American Club or Inn on Woodlake are required for non-members prior to making reservations for trap shooting.
Five-Stand Sporting Clays
Year Round at River Wildlife
A compact, five-station course provides an invigorating workout for the experienced shooter. Each station simulates different wild game as it’s being flushed: “running rabbit,” “springing teal,” etc. Reservations available daily from 8am to 3pm. Lodging reservations at The American Club or Inn on Woodlake are required for non-members prior to making reservations.
